Light and dark mode

TripBudget now follows your device's light or dark setting, with a switch in the preferences menu and clearer text in both.

The public pages now match your device. If your phone or computer is set to dark, TripBudget is too, and it follows when the setting changes.

What changed

  • Choose System, Light or Dark in the preferences menu next to language and currency. The choice is remembered and the page never flashes the wrong theme.
  • Text, borders and buttons use one shared set of colors in both themes, checked for readable contrast.
  • The trips dashboard, the trip editor, billing, settings and public trip pages follow your theme too.
  • The map switches to a dark style with a lighter route line, so the route stays easy to follow at night.
  • Buttons in dark mode now have white text on a deeper fill, and Delete is white on a clear red.
  • Language, currency and appearance are three matching dropdowns in the preferences menu.
  • The header and footer match the page color, so scrolling past the top or bottom on a phone looks clean.
  • Dark mode buttons use a brighter electric indigo, and the landing call to action and trip card headers blend green into violet.
