Shared trips show how to get around

Open a day on a shared or community trip and it now ends with Getting around: the stops in order, the way between each pair, and a directions button for every leg.

A shared trip's day with a list of three stops joined by two connections, a directions button being pressed, and that leg opened on a map with its mode and time

Getting around just landed in your own trips. Now the people you share a trip with get it too, and so does anyone browsing the community.

  • Every day you open lists its stops in the order to visit them, with the way between each pair: the mode, about how long, how far.
  • Each leg has a directions button that opens Google Maps for that leg alone, in its own mode. Following someone else's day is now a matter of pressing the next one.
  • Where the author said how they travelled, you see their choice. Where they did not, you see a suggestion, a shade quieter.
  • Press a stop to find it on the map beside the list.

Where you sleep stays private. A stay never appears on a public page, and neither does the end of a ride that starts or finishes there, so a reader's route begins at your first public stop.
